Welcoming the Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy to our Operations

As part of the ongoing strategic engagement efforts, Namdeb on Monday, 19 January 2026, had the honour of welcoming the newly appointed Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy (MIME), Hon. Modestus Amutse, accompanied by Deputy Executive Director, Mr Erasmus Shivolo, and Chief Diamond Inspector, Ms Annatjie Uulamba, to our operations.

The visit provided an important platform to strengthen collaboration between the Ministry and Namdeb, while offering the delegation insight into our operations, future initiatives, and the meaningful role Namdeb continues to play in national development.

As part of the programme, the delegation toured Namdeb’s Southern Coastal Mine (SCM) operations and the Red Area Complex (RAC), gaining a deeper understanding of how diamonds are responsibly and sustainably extracted within the upstream value chain. The visit also highlighted Namdeb’s positive socio-economic impact in Oranjemund, with tours of key community development projects.

Namdeb remains committed to ongoing engagement with key stakeholders to strengthen partnerships, foster collaboration, and ensure that we continue to deliver on our purpose of “Mining for Good”, as we work towards our vision of being “The Pride of Namibia’s Mining, to 2050 and beyond”.
