De Beers’ Chief People Officer Malebogo Mpugwa Visit Namdeb Operations
As part of our purpose of mining for good, we were delighted to host De Beers’ Chief People Officer, Malebogo Mpugwa, at our land‑based operations in Oranjemund. Her visit was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the positive impact of our work, the brilliance of our teams, the projects driving progress, and our enduring commitment to partnering with local communities. In true Namdeb fashion, we welcomed Malebogo to our Omugongo (town hall session), where she engaged with our management cohort of young, talented leaders. During this session, she generously shared an inspiring parable: a mother placed eggs, carrots, and coffee beans into three pots of boiling water. The eggs hardened inside, the carrots softened, while the coffee beans transformed the water itself. Her story beautifully illustrated resilience, the ability to adapt and create change even under intense pressure. It was a powerful reflection that resonated deeply with all of us.
