-Profit before tax of N$719 million achieved compared to the loss of N$685 million in H1 2009, due to a andbull; stabilisation of, and improvement in, trading conditions in H1 2010.
-Sales of rough diamonds increased to N$ 1 839 million (H1 2009; N$ 1 508), as a result of increased demand andbull; from retail markets, particularly India and China, as well as restocking by the trade.
-Carats recovered in H1 2010 amounted to 795 000, more than double those for H1 2009 (385 000) in line with andbull; increased demand.
-Profit after tax improved to N$ 259 million from a loss the previous period of N$ 396 million, due to the andbull; increased revenue along with the favourable reduction in cost of sales.
-Taxes amounted to N$ 460 million (2008: credit N$ 289 million). This is 64% of profit before tax.
